I wasn’t sure if I was going to write this post. After all we are already 3 weeks into January so I thought that the time for writing 2018 roundup posts might just have passed. But I had the pictures, and I actually really like them, so I couldn’t not share them on the blog. So welcome to my Favourite Beauty Products of 2018 post.
Estee Lauder ‘Double Wear’ Foundation I’ve been using this foundation for around 2 years now and despite trying quite a few other foundations in that time, I have yet to find anything that is just as good. I have a very oily t-zone and this is one of the only foundations I’ve ever used that lasts throughout the day and that doesn’t oxidise on me.
Anastasia ‘Dipbrow Pomade’ When it comes to my brows, I am pretty much clueless. Apart from plucking a few stray hairs away every few months I tend to pretty much leave them alone. But the Dipbrow Pomade- it really makes me feel like I have my shit together. I always get compliments on my brows when I’ve used this on them, and all I need is a few minutes to get them looking good.
Revolution ‘Conceal & Define’ Concealer Oh boy do I love this concealer. It only takes the tiniest amount to cover up any blemishes, blends out so easily, and doesn’t go cakey throughout the day like a lot of concealers I’ve tried. It’s also apparently a great dupe for the Tarte Shape Tape concealer, and best of all… it’s only £4.
Estee Lauder ‘The Illuminator’ Primer This primer had to be my most-used base product during the summer. I used it almost every day to add a glow to my face and skipped the foundation. Since then I’ve been using it almost every day to add a really natural glow to my face over my foundation. I tend to use it on the top of my cheekbones, the tip of my nose, and on my cupids bow. It’s the perfect alternative to a full on highlight for an everyday look.
TheBalm ‘Mary-Lou Manizer’ This is my all time favourite highlighter. It gives the most amazing, gorgeous glow with very little product. Unfortunately, when I run out (which won’t be long, I can see the pan starting to shine through) I actually think I won’t be re-buying it. I know that probably doesn’t make sense, but because I love this so much, I’ve been neglecting the rest of my highlighter products.
Too Faced ‘Melted Liquified in Chihuahua’ I actually got this lipstick a few years ago but I lost it not long after. Fast forward to a few months back when I was clearing out bags and I found this lying at the bottom of one of them. I started wearing it and quickly fell in love with it. It’s a gorgeous pink toned brown shade and it works well on me both when I’m tanned and when I’m pale.
BPerfect LMD Master Palette This palette has been my go-to throughout the last year. It’s just so perfectly laid out and makes doing my eye makeup SO easy. It also has a bronzer, blush and highlighter which means it’s a great palette for travelling because it has every I need. I love the left hand side the most, but I do reach for the right hand side when I’m feeling particularly adventurous.
Pixi Glow Tonic I have rosacea (mild, but noticeable) so I try not to use exfoliators where possible. Instead I like to use products that contain glycolic acid as this helps to give me a natural exfoliation. The Glow Tonic is by far my favourite product out of all of those I use- it leaves my skin feeling a lot clearer and definitely seems to help with the texture of my skin.
Clinique Redness Solutions Cleanser I actually bought my Mum this for her birthday as she also has rosacea (damn genetics), but I ended up falling in love with it myself. This is specifically formulated for redness and it definitely works. I can always see a difference when I use this- my skin looks less red and also feels calmer. I’ve also tried the moisturiser from this range and will definitely be buying it next.
Pixi Peel and Polish Ok, so I know that I have just said that I don’t like to use exfoliators. But, sometimes glycolic acid just doesn’t cut it, and my skin needs a good scrub. On those occasions I always reach for the Peel and Polish as I’ve found that it is so gentle on my skin and it leaves it feeling so smooth without making it red and agitated. It’s pricey, but definitely worth it.
Tresemme Root Boosting Spray I love to use this product when I blowdry my hair because it leaves my hair feeling like it has so much more volume. Unfortunately I have just realised that this product must have been discontinued (goodness only know how long I had the bottle in my stash for), which had devastated me, because I have just ran out. If anyone knows of any good alternatives, let me know in the comments.
Tangle Teezer Is there anybody who doesn’t love a Tangle Teezer? I have very curly hair naturally and as such it’s a pain to try and brush out. The Tangle Teezer however makes it so much easier and quicker. Which means more time for sleep.
Moroccanoil Frizz Control As anyone with curly hair will know, frizz tends to come along with it. And this Frizz Control oil really helps to keep my hair under control. It also leaves it looking a lot shinier which is always a plus, let’s be honest.
So there you have it, my favourite beauty products of 2018. What products did you love last year? Make sure to leave your choices in my comments!
